When opportunity knocks...

Sometimes you have to answer.

Ok...you're probably wondering why this is the third new look for this website in as many months. You're thinking I can't make up my mind, you're thinking maybe I'm a little psycho, you're thinking "the voices" are telling him what to do.

Well........yeah...maybe a little. :)

Just kidding. No...what's really going on is that over the course of the last 2-3 weeks a much larger opportunity in internet "publishing" presented itself to me. These are the kinds of opportunities where you look at yourself and say your are a fool if you don't at least give it a shot.

I can't really say what I'm going to try to do just yet because it's going to take me at least another 2-3 weeks before I'm going to be ready to release it, but I'll be sure to let you know when I do. Many of you will say "who cares?" when I finally do release it. It does have a specific target market though that should be large enough to support it. Hopefully in a profitable way.

In the meantime though, I'm going to simplify this website and use it as a welcome relief from the other stresses in my life.

So who is TheShu? Well, some of you may know me from my postings over on the Greensboro Sports Board. I am very much a Greensboro Generals fan, a so-so Bats fan and a fan of Greensboro in general. I am a former journalist, having worked mostly as a radio news reporter in my younger days in Wisconsin (sorry folks, I'm a born and bred yankee from Wisconsin). At one time, I was one of the youngest radio news directors at a commercial station in that state. I also did freelance work at the time for several newspapers including both the Milwaukee Journal and Milwaukee Sentinal (before they merged). I've had front-page stories on both and also won a few minor awards from the Wisconsin Associated Press. So what. Big deal.

A rather sickening series of events struck in late 1992-early 1993 that soured me on the whole broadcasting/journalism thing and that was the end of that. A series of events lead me to Greensboro via 8 years (and a new wife) in Pittsburgh and here I am now. Bigger...faster...stronger? No. More like fatter, slower and much more of a wise ass.

So come on back from time to time and see what's happening. Or if you're so inclined, I've set up an Atom feed you can use with your newsreader to keep track of me.
